The weather must have righted itself at last. We finally had 38mm (1.5" approx.) of steady rain. That's enough to get a bit of feed growing for those poor sheep and lambs. Also enough to get your car bogged as my son discovered.

PS I thought you'd be too far north to get sticky weather Johnny.

Carol - Toronto is at the same latitude as Bordeaux, France, and has a "continental" type of climate. Cold in the winter and warm and humid in the summer. Moist tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico gets funnelled up to the Great Lakes region and sits around for a few days.

Temps are normally about 21C this time of year and for the past week they have been 30+C, with humidex readings of 40C+. i.e. it has been feeling a bit like Darwin recently!

Crikey Johnny that's nothing like I imagined Toronto. I'll have to get the atlas out and check my geography. We rarely get high humidity down here in S.A. Just dry, hot (30-40C) summers which I love. I couldn't survive a Darwin summer.
